Editing Individual Piles

You can edit one or more individual piles in pile arrangements. An individual pile is known as a Pile Feature.


Before you begin: Create the pile arrangements for the project.

About Piles
  1. In the tree or from the 3D area, click each pile feature requiring a pile edit.

    Tip: To select more than one pile, press Ctrl while clicking the pile features.
    Choose only the pile features that you want to have the same changes.

    The Edit Pile Feature dialog box appears. If some of the properties have different values, the property is displayed in Varies box. For example, if you edit Pile Length for three pile features in a pile assembly, and later edit all the pile features in the pile assembly, Pile Length displays a Varies value.
    Note: You can choose one of the existing values from the selected features by selecting it in the combo box. To enter a new value, first select an existing value from the combo box then type in the desired value.
  2. From the context toolbar, click Edit Pile .
  3. From the Edit Pile dialog box, from the Pile Shape, select one of the following pile shapes
    OptionDescription
    Round - To make a circular pile.
    Square - To make a square pile.
  4. To change the pile dimension:

    For pile shape:Click to set the desired dimension:
    RoundDiameter and Length
    SquareWidth and Length

  5. In the Embedment box, specify the dimension by which each pile extends into the pile cap.
  6. In the Vertical Rake box, specify the raking angle of a pile in the vertical plane.
  7. In the Horizontal Rake box, specify the raking angle of a pile in the horizontal plane.
  8. Click OK.
