You can generate a report of the ingredients in a reviewed formula, to use as the
ingredients list on the label of a product. The report also includes a description of the
formula from its Purpose property.
The ingredient label text is a list of ingredients for display on product labels for the
formula.
Note:
In this release of Formulation Design, the ingredients list is suitable for cosmetic products for sale in the USA.
In the work area,
click Generate Report .
In the Generate Report dialog box, select Ingredient Label Text from the Select report list.
In the Generate Report dialog box, select a file type from the Select file type list. In this release of Formulation Design, the only option is PDF.
Click OK.
Formulation Design generates an Ingredient Label Text Report, and downloads it to your browser's
Downloads folder.
The report includes the formula number and name, the product description from the
Purpose property, and a list of ingredients.
The list of ingredients is generated according to the following rules:
Ingredients are identified by their International Nomenclature of Cosmetic
Ingredients (INCI) names.
Composite ingredients are expanded to their constituent substances, unless they
are fragrance ingredients.
All substances and non-composite materials that occur in the dry composition of
the formula are listed, unless they are off-label ingredients.
All active ingredients are listed first, preceded by the text "Active
Ingredients:". Each active ingredient is followed by its dry % in parentheses.
All inactive ingredients are listed after the active ingredients, preceded by the
text "Inactive Ingredients:". Inactive ingredients are listed in the following
order:
All other ingredients above 1%.
All other ingredients below 1%.
All other (inactive) ingredients.
Colorants, with their color index in parentheses, if available.
Within each category described above, ingredients are listed in descending order
of dry weight.
Off-label ingredients are not listed.
Fragrance ingredients are not expanded to their constituent substances.
