Using the Link Manager

You can use this tool to manage the links you create between operations.

Note: You can still link the operations right-clicking the output of the operations.

  1. From the Types and Processes section, click Link Manager .
    The Link Manager appears.
  2. Click the Source operation box and, in the operations tree, click the operation from which you want to make a link.
This operation becomes the source operation. Its name is automatically displayed in the Source operation box and its attributes listed in the left pane. The type it belongs to is automatically exposed (its attributes shown) in the Type attributes section, and the list of operations to which the attributes can be linked are displayed in the Target operation attributes section.
Note: To select a different source operation, click the Source operation box and select another source operation.
  3. Double-click an unlinked attribute and select an attribute in the target section or in the type section. This attribute is seen as the link target.
The link icon appears in the Link status column.
    Notes:
    • In the left pane, The Link status column shows if an attribute is linked (link icon displayed). The Name column shows the attribute name. The Value or Link column shows the attribute value or its target if it is linked.
    • Double-clicking the Link status column lets you quickly unlink a linked attribute.
    • Clicking a linked attribute highlights the attribute it is linked to, and opens its parent in the target section.
  4. Click OK when done.
    Notes:
    • The Link Manager automatically updates the operation tree to show updated link status for attributes.
    • When a source attribute is selected, the target view filters out all attributes to which the source cannot be linked. Additional tests are carried out upon linking two attributes which may result in the link failing (despite initial filtering). This results in an error message indicating the problem.
