Instantiating a Component

With Resource Table

You can instantiate a component using the resource table option.

  1. Click the type you have created and click Sequence Combination Operation to create a sequence of operations.
  2. Click Bind Object Operation .
  3. Double-click the Bind a PLMComponent.1 operation in the tree and enter ExtObj in the Relative Name field. Click OK to validate.
  4. Click Manage Components Operation .
  5. Expand the Bind a PLMComponent.1 node.
  6. Double-click the ManagePLMComponents.1 operation in the tree. The Create and Insert components editor opens.
    1. Click Resource Table Component.
      The resource table opens.
    2. Click ....
      The resource table opens.
    3. Select a resource or click Add a new resource item.

      A new line appears in the table.

      • In the Resource Type scrolling list, select PLM Reference. The Select a PLM Reference for item "Resource1" tab opens.
      • Click Search and select the desired reference from the list. Click OK twice to validate.

    4. Click Resource Table Component.

Without Resource Table

You can instantiate a component without using the resource table option.

  1. Click the type you have created and click Sequence Combination to create a sequence of operations.
  2. Click Query Component .
  3. Click Bind Object Operation .
  4. Double-click QueryComponent.1 in the tree and select RepReference from the list. Click OK to validate.
  5. Double click the Bind a PLMComponent.1 operation in the tree and enter ExtObj in the Relative Name field. Click OK to validate.
  6. Click Manage Components Operation .
  7. Expand the Bind a PLMComponent.1 and the QueryComponent.1 nodes.
  8. Double-click the ManagePLMComponents.1 operation in the tree. The Create and Insert components editor opens.
    1. Select Existing component and click its field and click the output link of the QueryComponent.1 operation in the tree.
    2. Specify the number of instances to create.
    3. Click the Destination field in the Instantiation context area and click the output link of the Bind a PLMComponent.1 operation in the tree. Click OK to validate.
