Inserting a New 3D Part in a Product

You can insert a new 3D part in an assembly.

Note: When you create new content, you must specify the associated design range. Normal range is the default option and is sufficient in the majority of cases. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps: Introducing Design Range Management.

  1. Select a product.
  2. From the section of the action bar, click Insert New 3D Part .

    Notes:
    • To successively repeat this action, double-click the command. The repeat mode is only available for a monoselection. To end the repeat mode, press Esc.
    • This command is also available from the context menu.

    Note: The 3D Part dialog box appears if the Set attribute as option has been selected when creating this object type. For more about the 3D Part dialog box, see Create a 3D Part.
  3. In the 3D Part dialog box, enter the convenient information then click OK.
    The new 3D part is added as a child of the selected product.
