What's New

This page describes recent changes in Lattice Design.

R2022x GA

New Cell Types

You can now select one of the following new cell types while allocating lattice areas.
  • BccCubic
  • BccFcc
  • Dode
  • Fcc
  • Honeycomb
Benefits: This functionality lets you customize the lattice pattern according to your requirement.
For more information, see Allocating a Lattice Area

Lattice Area Improvements

While generating a lattice area for a part, you can now generate a lattice area for several cavities within the same body, with the same lattice definition.
Benefits: This function provides you an ability to design several lattice strut features for a given input body.
For more information, see Allocating a Lattice Area

Creating Lattice Strut Set

You can now create several lattice strut features for a given body.
  • In the tree, these lattice strut features are added under a new lattice strut set feature.
  • The lattice strut and lattice geometry features are now created separately. For the lattice geometry, a lattice strut set is required as an input.
Benefits: This functionality clearly differentiates the lattice strut features from lattice geometry features. These two features now coexist in the tree.
For more information, see Generating Lattices

Improved Usability of the Lattice Area Command

The usability of the Lattice Area command is improved with the Auto complete close option. If this check box is selected, the open cavities are closed.
Benefits: This functionality improves the usability of the Lattice Area command by giving user the control to create GSD features automatically, to close the selected open cavities.
For more information, see Allocating a Lattice Area

Positioning the Lattice cells

You can now change the position and orientation of lattice cells along a selected axis system.
Benefits: This functionality lets you position the lattice cells along the selected axis system in all the selected cavities.
