About Volumes

This page provides you with information about the different types of volumes that can be created in Systems Space Reservation.

This page discusses:

Component Volume

This 3D volume represents the reserved space for one or several system components in the 3D model.

A system component is an object defined in the high-level architecture that would eventually generate electrical or fluidic equipment. A system component can emit or receive signals.

Each volume can be associated with one or several system components.

Derivation Volume

This 3D volume is a space reservation for logical objects, which split a signal linking several receptors, into several subroutes (example: Terminal block in electrical design).

This volume is separated from a main network, and connected to it through one or several pathways, using pathway connection points.

Important: For more about the New content dialog box, see 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: Creating New Objects.

Interface Volume

This 3D volume is a space reservation for logical objects used to separate two industrial zones.

Located in the middle of a main network, it provides an interface between at least two different pathways connected through pathway connection points.
