Saving Projects in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform

You can perform a transfer of CAD data from the local client to 3DEXPERIENCE.


Before you begin: Log in to 3DEXPERIENCE if you have not already done so.
  1. Open the Save to3DEXPERIENCE.

    The check-in page has a tree table for the CAD objects. The tree table for the objects selected has various columns displaying the information specific to the object in each row.

  2. Right-click an item.
  3. Click Options to change any of the following default settings.

    Option Description
    Revise A new revision of the object can be created in 3DEXPERIENCEusing this menu. You can select Next to create a new revision of the object or edit this field using your own revision.
    Selection Checkbox The column allows you to select the objects for check-in.
    Type

    This column specifies the type of object named in the IDF Model.

    Revision This column specifies the current revision of the object in 3DEXPERIENCE.
    Status The Status column displays the status of the object in 3DEXPERIENCE.
    • New - the object does not exist in3DEXPERIENCE.
    • Exists - the object exists in 3DEXPERIENCE
    • Modified - the object was modified in Cadence.
    • Obsolete - the design in the local system is older than the one in 3DEXPERIENCE.
    Locked By This column specifies the user who holds the lock to the object in 3DEXPERIENCE.
    Save To The Save To field lets you assign a workspace folder in 3DEXPERIENCE to which the object will be checked in.
    Check in Comment You can enter any comment during the check-in operation. This will go as an attribute in the CAD object in 3DEXPERIENCE.
    Views You can select different views of the page using the box. Any number of customized views are possible. The bottom panel of the check-in page shows Select Modified, Check-in, and Cancel.
    Save Saves all selected CAD objects to 3DEXPERIENCE.
    Lock Locks all selected CAD objects in 3DEXPERIENCE.
    Unlock Unlocks all selected CAD objects in 3DEXPERIENCE.
    Cancel If the user cancels the operation, the check-in operation is terminated by closing the check-in dialog.
    Close Dialog Selecting this check box closes the Save dialog at runtime after successful Save operation. This setting is active only for the current session of the Save dialog. The setting is dropped when the dialog is closed.
    Options Options opens up the Preferences dialog. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Preferences.

    Changing these options will only be saved for this project and not in Preferences.
  4. Enter text in the Save Comment box to describe the updates being saved.
  5. Select OK.
    The revision is applied to all the CAD objects in the Save to 3DEXPERIENCE dialog box.
  6. Select Cancel.
    This action will cancel the operation and return you to the Save to 3DEXPERIENCE.
