Creating a Layers Group

You can create a layers group, which is a structure node aggregated under the stacking, to gather a list of layers. It is a way to group layers that fulfill a given function for Layered Product Design.


Before you begin: A stacking must exist.

  1. From the Model section of the action bar, click Layer Group .
  2. Alternatively, double-click a layers group in the tree, or select a layers group and click Layers Group.
    Edition mode is started. Operation mode is the same as for the creation, except that the dialog box is filled with the values of the current layers group.
  3. By default, the layers group is added at the last position in the stacking. Place the cursor in Position After and select an existing layers group (if any).
    The current layers group is placed after the selection.
  4. Optional: Select the Invert order during manufacturing check box.
    The layers group is marked as Inverted in the tree.

A Layer Group node (named after your input) is added to the tree. It contains an empty Parameters set and a Relations set.
