Dassault Systèmes: MagicDraw

The MagicDraw connector helps display diagrams and models from a MagicDraw project (*.mdzip file).

Tip: To improve the display of MagicDraw diagrams in this app, you can use the MDZipX plugin that is provided in MagicDraw (from 19.0 SP3). For more information, see the MagicDraw or CAMEO User's Guide.

Supported Version and Format

  • From version MagicDraw 18.5, the following formats are supported:

    • .mdzip
    • .mdzipx
    Note: For both formats, used projects are not supported.

  • From version Cameo 2021 Refresh1, the following formats are supported: .mdzipx is supported with used projects. For more information, see the Cameo User's Guide.

Extracted Elements

By default, the following elements are extracted:

  • Models: All elements (SysML/UML objects, requirement,…)
  • Diagrams: SysML/UML diagrams (except tabular/matrix diagram and relation map diagram)
  • Properties (for readability purpose, some are extracted but hidden)
  • Synchronization links created by Cameo DataHub between Cameo objects and external sources (such as DOORS/ DOORS Next Generation, requirements of Traceable Requirements Management…)

Exporting to an MDZipX file, the .mdzipx file contains:

  • The .mdzip file
  • The .svg file for each diagram

Traceability

Links
Links are exposed. The traceability coverage is computed.
Administrators can customize the links exposure through the administrator preferences.
Objects
By default, the following objects are exposed in the traceability:
  • ExtractPorts
  • ExtractDiagrams
  • ExtractDataTypes
  • ExtractLiterals
  • ExtractTaggedValues
  • ExtractMiscellaneous

Preview

Models and diagram elements are displayed.

Notes:
  • When expanding a node in the tree, the model is progressively loaded. Performance depends on the size of the resource to be loaded.
  • The last revision of the project is displayed. Former revisions are stored in the Revisions folder.

Supported Functionality

The generic functionalities are supported.

Effectivity is not supported.
