Searching in a MagicDraw Project

From the properties area, you can search for MagicDraw objects, diagrams, and relations in a project.

  1. Select a MagicDraw project.
  2. From the properties area, click Search .
  3. In the Search for box, enter a string for your search. If needed, use the following special characters:
    Special characterDescription
    * Replaces zero or more characters.

    Important: The search ignores lower and upper cases.

  4. In the Type list, select a type (that is, a MagicDraw category):
    • Package/Smart Package
    • Parametric
    • Class
    • Block
    • Component
    • Profile
    • Stereotype
    • Use Case
    • Actor
    • Requirement
    • State Diagrams
    • Activity Diagrams
    • Sequence Diagrams
    • Block Definition Diagrams
    • Internal Block Diagrams
    • Use Case Diagrams
    • Requirement Diagrams
    • Package Diagrams
    • Parametric Diagrams

    Note:
    • If you do not select a type, the search is performed on the object's name.
    • Administrators can customize this Type list. For more information, see NoMagic - MagicDraw Search Preference.

  5. Click OK to display the result in the search basket.
