Inferencing

Inferencing lines work with pointers, snaps, and constraints to graphically display how sketch entities affect each other.

Inferencing lines are dotted lines that appear as you sketch. When the pointer approaches highlighted cues such as midpoints, the inferencing lines guide you relative to existing sketch entities. In the following example, additional line inferences display when hovering over sketch entities. This example displays parallel and perpendicular constraints.

Hover over arcs and circles to display tangents and centers.

To temporarily turn off snapping and inferencing, press Ctrl while sketching.
