Images Page

The Image Manager shows all images associated with the current item. You can view the primary image along with all other images for the object. 3D images use 3DPlay to display and examine the image. For more information, see the 3DPlay Guide.

Images are resized smaller to fit within the display area, but small images are not enlarged. Typical objects that might have images for visual identification are parts and documents, but any business object can have images associated with it. All users who have access to an object can associate images with that object.

Required access roles: All. If you have access to an object, you have access to images related to that object.

To access this page:

  1. View the properties page for the object that contains the image.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Images.

    Or

    Click the thumbnail image that displays in a column on a list page for objects.

    Or

    For a structured content page in thumbnail or graph mode, click the magnifying glass on an image.

Page Description

The page displays the primary image in full size in the main window. Other associated images are listed as thumbnails on the right side of the page. The icon indicates which image is the primary image. The 3D cue () next to a thumbnail means that image uses a 3D format, such as 3DXML, and the app uses 3DPlayer to view that image.

The buttons page through the images in a slide show fashion.

You can click the thumbnail image on the right of the screen to view that image in full size.

When viewing a 3D image in the filmstrip, you can click the full-size image to start 3DPlay.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

Action Description
Upload Uploads images from your computer to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Only users with Modify access on the object can upload images for the object.

If you open the Image Manager by clicking an image (or magnifying glass on an image) on a structured content page, you can drag-and-drop image files from your computer onto on the toolbar to upload them.

3D files can be checked into a 3D XML Viewable or CGR Viewable object. If you uploaded a 3D file and that file does not include a thumbnail image, the page shows a default image with the 3D cue.

Set As Primary Selects the checked image as the primary image for this object: check the image; click OK to confirm.
Delete Deletes the checked image; click OK to confirm. You cannot delete images if they are stored in the alternate path.
