Page Toolbar Icons

The page toolbar contains buttons that apply to the current page.

If the active page requires many of these tools, some of them may be moved to the Tools menu.

Icon Command Name Description For More Information


Actions Lists a menu of commands for the specific page.

For lengthy lists, a scroll bar provides access to additional actions. On mobile devices, touch the actions list to show the scroll bar.

/ Enable Edit / Disable Eidt Toggles the page between edit mode and view mode.


Create Creates a new item of the type listed on that page. app User Guides


Add Existing Adds a new item of the type listed on that page. Opens a search page for you to find the required item. app User Guides


Subscribe Subscribe to events for the selected item. Collaboration and Approvals User's Guide: Subscription Management


Push Subscribe Subscribe other people to events for the selected item.


Remove Selected Removes the selected items from the page.


Delete Selected Deletes the selected items from the page. You must click OK to confirm that you want to delete the items.

If the app could not delete any of the selected items, a window opens listing the items that could not be deleted and explains why.



Charts Opens charts. Some pages define the charts that open; other pages let you configure how you want the charts to display.


New Window Opens the current page or item in a new browser window.

Customize / View Click to create a new view for the page.

Click the arrow to select a menu item:

Menu Item Description
Edit Current Table Opens the Customize Table View dialog box showing the current table design.
Create New Table View Opens the Customize Table View dialog box.
Delete Current Table View Deletes the current view. You cannot delete the System table.
Table names Shows an item for each view you designed, and each table view provided by the app.
Filter names Shows filters provided for the page. These filters are not editable and are separate from the filters you choose using. For example, some pages have filters for Active, Completed, and All.

You can select a table (either the system table, one you created, or an alternate table) and one filter at a time. The app shows a check mark next to the active table and filter. The app remembers your choice and loads it the next time you access the page.

Note: The app only remembers the choices for the most recent 15 pages that you accessed. Some apps use the same system table for more than one page.Your custom views and selections on one page are used for any other app page that uses that system table.
Designing Your Own Page Views
Shortcuts Shows in pop-up windows only. Opens the shortcut panel that lists links to recently viewed pages and links to the Clipboard collection and all of your collections. Shortcuts


Launch 3DLive Examine or 3DPlay Open the current item in 3DLive Examine or 3DPlay, whichever app is configured for that page.

3DLive Examine is not available on the cloud.

Refinements Filter the list of items that show on the page. Refinements Available for List Pages


Copy Page URL Copy the URL to the current page so you can paste it in a field, email message, or a document. Copying the URL for the Page


Render PDF Save the current item as a PDF file. Rendering a Page in PDF


MxLink Find the hyperlink text for an item, to add a link in a text box. Searching for or Entering an mxLink Value

Common Tools

The menu on a page toolbar might include any of these commands. Each page only shows the tools that make sense for that page. Some pages show these commands directly on the toolbar.

Printer Friendly. Use the browser's Print function to print the page.

The page header includes the name of any selected view or filter.

The printed page only includes saved data. If you edited fields but did not click Save, the printed page shows the values currently in the database, not the new values.

You can print the details and graph views of a structure browser page, but the thumbnail view is not supported.

Tools for Structured Content

The page toolbar can include these tools on pages that display structured content. Not all structure browser pages include all of the tools. When pagination is enabled on a structured content page, sort works over all rows, but all other tools (such as Row Grouping and Find-In) only work on the currently-displayed rows.

Create Object in New Row Adds a new row to the table where you can enter the details for a new item. Structured Content in Edit Mode

Structure Compare Compares the structures of two items. Defining a Structure Compare Report (Wizard)


Expand All Immediately expands all nodes to all levels; for pages with multiple root nodes, select the rows to expand first.

If you make any edits, the expand tools are disabled.



Expand to n Level For a page with a single root node, lets you choose how many levels to expand all rows; if the page contains multiple root nodes, select the nodes to expand first, then this button expands those nodes to all levels to the number of specified levels.

If you make any edits, the expand tools are disabled.



Display Mode Chooses how to display the page. Not all pages let you choose graph or thumbnail.

Table Displays columns listing complete information about each item.
Graph Uses a tree to display the hierarchical relationship between items.
Thumbnail Shows the primary image and name of each item. Hover over the name to view the type and revision. Click to open the Images page for the item.

In details mode, you can click an image to open the Image Manager. In thumbnails or graph mode, you can click the magnifying glass on an image to open the Image Manager.

/ Wrap / Unwrap Enables ( ) or disables ( ) word wrap.

For desktop apps, click to wrap the text in all columns. For unwrapped cells, the column width controls the amount of text that appears, and you see an ellipsis when some text is not displayed. To view hidden text, hover over the cell. If the cell contains icons, you see the tooltip for the icon you hover over.

When wrap is enabled and you resize columns, you must release the mouse before the app properly realigns the rows and columns for the new size.

For mobile apps, automatic word wrapping is off by default.

On premises only: Business Administrators can disable word wrapping.
/ Copy / Move Enable copy or move when dragging-and-dropping items. Toggle this icon to change mode.

When editing structured content, you can drag an item from one place to another. When shows, the app copies the item. When shows, the app moves the item.

You only see these actions if the page has at least one column that supports drag-and-drop.

Structured Content in Edit Mode


Row Grouping Group rows by up to 3 different columns. The page uses values in the selected column to determine how to present the content. Row grouping works with the details and thumbnails display modes. Grouping Rows in Structured Content
Refresh Refreshes the page with the latest content.


Find-In Searches for text within the page. Click to open the tool and enter the text you want to find. You can use the next and previous arrows to cycle through the matches.
