Route Templates Page

This page lists route templates that you own, the Enterprise templates for your company, the Manufacturing templates for your plant, and Bookmark Root templates for Bookmark Roots that you belong to. For a Leader, the list includes all templates created by employees of your company.

To access this page:

In the navigation pane, click Routes > Route Templates.

Or:

  1. Open the required plant. Opening a Plant.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Route Templates.

Columns

Column Name Description
Name The name assigned by the person who saved the template. To see details about the template, click its Name. See Route Template Properties.
Rev The revision number for the template. Each time a template is updated and saved, the system increments the revision number. This page shows the highest revision of each template. The Revision link on the Properties page will show all revisions of the Template.
Description A summary of the template's purpose.
State Shows if the template is a draft or released.
Route Base Purpose Shows the kind of tasks included in the route.
  • Standard. The route can include tasks that require the assignee's approval or comment or tasks intended only for notification or information.
  • Approval. The route includes only tasks that require the assignee's approval.
  • Review. The route includes only tasks that require the assignee's comment.
Start Route On Completion Defines the route template to use to start a linked route when routes created from this route template complete. For more information, see Linking Route Templates.
Availability
Important: Availability is no longer used to determine who can access the route template. The credentials of the route template (owning organization and collaborative space) determine if a route template displays in search results for a user. That is, the user must belong to the same organization and collaborative space to use a route template. Any value entered in this field does not affect whether a specific user can access the route template.
Owner The person responsible for maintaining the template.
Scope All or Organization. For templates whose scope is a Bookmark Root or Bookmark, this lists the Bookmark Root or Bookmark.

Filters

Click and choose a Route State Purpose to filter the list of templates:

  • All
  • Approval
  • Review
  • Standard

Create New Creates a new route template using the wizard. Creating Route Templates
Delete Selected Deletes the selected template; click OK to confirm. The route template must be in the Inactive state.

You can only delete User and Enterprise route templates that you own. The Bookmark Root owner can delete Bookmark Root level route templates.

If the route template is linked to from another route template, you cannot delete it. You must remove it from the "Start Route on completion" field for any route template that references it.

When you delete a template, you delete only the most recent revision of the template and the next most-recent revision becomes the active template. To delete a template entirely, you must delete all revisions of it.

If there is more than one revision of the template, only the most recent revision is deleted and the next-most recent becomes the active template and is listed on the Route Templates page.

To delete the template entirely, select Delete Selected until there are no more revisions.
