Saving a Bookmark Root as a Bookmark Root Template

You can use Bookmark Root Templates to speed up the process of creating a Bookmark Root that is similar to one you have already created. A Bookmark Root Template saves the components of a Bookmark Root that are frequently reused, including the Bookmark Root members and Bookmark structure.

You can save any Bookmark Root that you created as a Bookmark Root Template. If you are designated as a Leader or Company Representative, you can make Bookmark Root Templates available to all members of the Bookmark Root, called Enterprise templates.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Contributor, Leader (who has access to the Bookmark Root)
  • App-specific: All


Before you begin: View the properties for the required Bookmark Root. For more information, see Bookmark Root Properties Page.
  1. Click Save As Template from the page Actions menu or toolbar.
  2. Enter or edit these details:

    Field Name Description
    Bookmark Root Template Name Enter a name for the Bookmark Root Template.
    Description Enter a brief description for the Bookmark Root Template.
    Availability Choose one of these options:
    • User. The Bookmark Root Template is available only to you and from within the current Bookmark Root.
      Note: Depending on access, the Bookmark Root Template might be visible in searches, but it is not included when selecting a Bookmark Root Template while creating a Bookmark Root.
    • Enterprise. The Bookmark Root Template is available to anyone with the Contributor access role for creating Bookmark Roots. A Company Representative or Leader can create Enterprise-level route templates.
    Save Options If the Bookmark Root was already based on a Bookmark Root Template that you created, you can choose one of these options:
    • Save as New Template. Create a new Bookmark Root Template.
    • Revise Template. Save the Bookmark Root Template as a new revision of the Bookmark Root Template from which it was created.
    Template Data Choose what items from the original Bookmark Root to include in the template:
    • Members
    • Bookmark Structure

  3. Click Done.
