Below is some information about Inserts input and output.

Input
  • If the core and cavity surfaces have not been selected automatically, select them in the work area
    • Surfaces with holes are not allowed.
    • The core and cavity surfaces are made of:
      • The parting surface
      • The core/cavity side
      • The fill holes surfaces (if any).
  • If the main pulling direction has not been selected automatically, select a 3D axis system to specify the orientation of the inserts.
    Tip: Select another 3D axis system to replace the current one.
Output
Inserts
  • Is meant to create inserts for the core and cavity surfaces, not for slider/lifter surfaces (that is, mechanism heads).
    Tip: To create mechanism heads, select manually the slider/lifter surfaces and a secondary pulling direction.
  • Lets you edit existing inserts (double-click the insert feature to edit).
  • Does not support the context of a Mold Project Unit.
  • Creates one geometrical set named SetOfInserts. It contains the sketch of the insert boundary.
    • Body of Core Insert and Body of Cavity Insert contain the corresponding insert features, and possibly one Remove feature per slider insert.
    • Body of Slider Insert contains one solid for each insert.
