Generating an Alignment Report

You can export alignment information in a report to the format of your choice.


Before you begin:
  • Create an alignment.
  • Microsoft Excel or a Html browser is required for both generation and viewing of reports.

About Alignment Reports
  1. In the tree or in the work area, select an alignment.
  2. From the Civil Engineering section of the action bar, click Export Alignment Report .
  3. If you selected a concrete part containing n rebar layers, click the three dot button next to the Selection box to display the Element list, and select a single element or all the elements in the Export Rebar dialog box.
  4. To specify the destination folder of the report, click .
    A panel indicates the path of your directory. You can change it by clicking .
  5. Optional: Select the Additional discretized points check box.
  6. Optional: Specify a uniform spacing value to create the additional points.

    By default, the alignment report will retrieve the start point, the transition point between two distinct geometries and the end point related information.

  7. To export the alignment information, click the format icon:
    • , then select Open the file with the following stylesheet applied option.
    • to open an html report.
    By default, Civil Engineering 3D Design proposes those two formats you can customize further. You can also add other formats to suit your civil engineering project. Usually, the BIM manager responsible for the civil engineering project performs the customization tasks. The sample files to customize are in win_b64\resources\Civil\Alignment.   8. The report is created and saved at the selected location.
