Place a Selected Component on an Specification Feature
You can automatically position a selected component on a specification feature of a target element and create the corresponding impacts and/or cuts.
- From the Component section of the action bar, click Component Placement .

Select a product.
- It is highlighted in the 3D area.
- It is identified by a label showing its type and the name of its axis system.
- A context toolbar is attached to the product.

In the
context toolbar, select and select the target element.
Note: The connection move is always performed from the selected element to the target element. Be careful to select them in the right order.All the specifications features with the compatible expected type found on the target element are displayed.

Select the required
specification feature.
The selected product is positioned automatically on this specification feature through a rigid mechanical constraint between the base axis system and the specification feature.Note: If there is only one compatible specification feature on the target element, the product is positioned automatically on it (no need to select the specification feature).
The next commands proposed in the context toolbar vary according to the selection.
- Once the product is positioned, drag the Robot that appeared on the product to apply an offset, or rotate the product.
- In the
context toolbar, select New Reference or New instance.Note: This capability is available only when you are populating a specification feature.
- If you have selected New Reference and placed a product with Isolated Features, Replace Isolated External References is automatically started.The Target Features are visible in the External References geometrical set of the Source Product.

Select to create the impacts or otherwise.
The product is inserted, and the impacts are created or not, according to your choice.
- Decide to insert the components only On Selected Specification Feature or On Compatible Specification Features .
