The Criteria area of the Product / Product DS and the Properties dialog boxes corresponds to the list of configuration criteria types available in the model dictionaries attached to the product. To define the effectivity on the child instance, you can choose to select one of the criteria types from the attached models. Criteria are classified as either Variant or Evolution.

The following tables describe the definition of configuration criteria types:

Evolution Description
Date

Defines the different date ranges to ascertain the validity of an instance for a given product. To move from Date only mode to Date by configuration context mode and vice-versa, it is recommended to remove the effectivities from all the instances available under the reference.

  • Global Date: This mode enables you to configure a structure using a universal date (without associating any configuration context to the selected reference).
  • Date by configuration context: This mode enables you to select different date ranges available in the various configuration contexts. You can also combine date with other configuration criteria types available in the selected model dictionary.

Milestone Defines the consistent target date for a sequence of milestone to ascertain the validity of design structures for a given product.
Model Version Defines the different stages of the configuration definition for a given product.
Unit Defines the different unit numbers that are built for a given product.
Manufacturing Plan Defines the different stages of the manufacturing process for a given product.
Variant/ Options Description
Variant and Options Defines the list of varaint values or options that can be activated (or not) for a given product.
