Filtering Configured Structures Using Change Action Criteria

You can use a change action to filter your configured structure, with or without taking into consideration any model criteria. If you specify model criteria in addition to change action criteria, both are used in the configuration filter. If you specify only change action criteria, no model criteria is used in the configuration filter.

Important: You cannot combine any type of variant/option criteria with change action criteria in a configuration filter.

Before you begin: If you have not already done so, create a configuration filter. For more information, see Create the Configuration Filter.
  1. Select how you want the structure filtered based on whether changes to it have been approved through a change action:
    OptionDescription
Official View Shows the most recent view of the configured structure before changes are approved through a change action. The model criteria is taken into consideration.
Projected View Shows the configured structure after the changes are approved using a change action. The model criteria is taken into consideration.
Change Action Shows the configured structure after the changes are approved using a change action. The model criteria is not taken into consideration.
  2. Select the Change Action check box.
  3. To select one or more change actions to add to the configuration criteria, in the Change Action field, click .
  4. Select one or more change actions from the search results, and then click OK.

If you select more than one change action, the change actions are combined in the configuration filter using OR.

  5. Click OK.

You have defined the change action criteria for the configuration filter. If you are finished with criteria selection for the configuration filter, complete the Apply the Configuration Filter to the Configured Structure task.
