About Estimated Cut-Pieces

Estimated Cut-Pieces information is an automatic and quick way to know whether cut-pieces are required for a ply, and their number.

This information is automatically computed from the producibility. The information is displayed in the producibility table and in the stacking management table.

Note: The information is a quick estimation. It does not provide the exact number of cut-pieces, nor their shape. This is done in Splice Plies or Splice Plies from Producibility.

The elements taken into account are the ply geometry, the seed point, and the material roll width:

  • If no cut-pieces are required (the material roll covers the entire ply), Estimated Cut-Pieces value is 0.
  • If cut-pieces are required, Estimated Cut-Pieces value is 2 or more.
Note: A blank value indicates that the computation failed.

A producibility must exist to compute the Estimated Cut-Pieces. If several producibility features exist, the active one is taken into account.

Tip: Upgrade or edit older producibility features to compute Estimated Cut-Pieces.
