You can exchange (that is, import or export) content, either as file-based objects
or as database reference objects. Both modes preserve the traceability, history and
reusability of the content.

From the top bar,
select , and then click the App Preferences
tab.

Select .

Under External Data Access, select the required default
location for exported files (File-based system or
Database).
The selected location is proposed by default in all the commands.

Start the command.

Either keep the default location or switch to the other one.

To export a file

In a file-based system export, click ... and enter the
path of the export file in the File Selection dialog box that
appears. Click Save to revert to the main dialog box.

In a database export: Click to open the Content Chooser to retrieve an existing reference to overwrite. Click OK
to revert to the main dialog box.

To import a file

In a file-based system import, click ... and enter the
path of the import file in the File Selection dialog box that
appears. Click Open to revert to the main dialog box.

In a database import, click to open theContent Chooser to retrieve an existing reference to open. Click OK to
revert to the main dialog box.
