Inserting Existing Part Guided Search

You can add appropriate part types to a selected EBOM part using the Existing Part Guided Search. For example, for the Packaging Assembly part, only the Packaging Assembly Part and the Packaging Material part can be added to the EBOM.

Before you begin: Required access roles:
  • Baseline: Author, Leader
  • App-Specific: Product Data Originator, Restricted Product Data Originator
Note: Adding any part as a child of a Formulation Part in an EBOM page is not allowed.
  1. For formulation part:
    1. Open a formulation part, and select Engineering BOM from the category menu.
    2. From the page toolbar of Formula Ingredients page, click Existing Part Guided Search.
    1. Open a part, and select Engineering BOM from the category menu.
    2. From the page toolbar of EBOM page, click Insert Part > Insert as Child > Existing Part Guided Search.
  2. Click Add Existing Part , and click Existing Part Guided Search.
  3. Select the check box of the product data parts that you want.
  4. Click Done.
    The product data parts are added to the EBOM.
  5. Type the quantity in the Qty column, and click Save.
