Accesses for a Collaborative Space

Accesses lets you view the people and user groups already added to the collaborative space, add additional people or user groups, remove people or user groups, and change their access roles.

This page discusses:

Accesses

People with access to the collaborative space can see the list of people and user groups, but cannot make any changes.

For clarity, the term "restricted" does not display in the list for people or user groups with restricted roles. For example, the Leader and Leader (Restricted) roles both show with Leader as the access role.

If you see a person's email address listed followed by (pending) and not a username, that person has been invited to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform but has not yet accepted. This person could be an internal or external user. After they connect to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the list replaces the email address with their user name.

Toolbar Actions

You must have the Owner or Owner (Restricted) access role to add people or user groups. If you have the Owner (Restricted) access role, you can only manage access for your own organization, and you can only assign restricted access roles.

Action Description For More Information

Context Menu for a Member

You must have the Owner or Owner (Restricted) access role to access the context menu. If you have the Owner (Restricted) access role, you can only manage members from your own organization, and you can only assign restricted access roles.

You cannot remove or change the access role for the main owner of the collaborative space. If you need to do this, contact the Platform Manager. Only the main Owner of the collaborative space can edit the role of users with owner accesss.

For members with restricted roles, the context menu does not allow you to change their access role, and does not indicate that the role is "restricted." To work with restricted roles and organizations, click Advanced. For more information see Managing Members from Multiple Organizations.

When you switch a member's access role, all previously assigned credentials for the collaborative space are removed for any organization. New credentials are assigned to indiviudual users based on their organization, the same as when originally adding the user to the collaborative space. New credentials are assigned to user groups for the selected access role and the host company.

Note: Your Platform Administrator can configure 3DSpace member access as follows:
