Configuring and Activating the Embedded Integration Mode

You can configure and activate the embedded integration mode using the Options dialog box.


Before you begin:

Ensure that the Integration Exchange Framework Client is installed.

  1. In the CATIA toolbar, select Tools > Options.
    The Options dialog box appears.
  2. In the Options area, select General > Compatibility and select the ENOVIAV6/3DEXPERIENCE Integration tab.
    The embedded integration options appear in the ENOVIAV6/3DEXPERIENCE Integration tab of the Options dialog box.
  3. Enter these details for the following areas in the ENOVIA V6/3DEXPERIENCE tab to configure and activate the embedded integration mode.

    Note: When you enable embedded integration, all functions of browser user interface are disabled.
    Local Workspace DirectorySelect Folder or Select DLNamesClick Select Folder or Select DLName to browse and set the default folder. See Setting the Local Workspace Directory.
    Allow local workspace directory selection on Open PanelSelect this check box to activate the option that allows you to select the local workspace directory from the Open dialog box.
    Modification to Unlocked DocumentsReport unlocked modified documentsSelect this check box to enable the Lock modified documents dialog box. This dialog box appears when you modify any document that is not locked, or is locked by another user. For more information, see Use the Lock Modified Documents Dialog Box.

    In addition, on selecting this check box a warning message is enabled that appears when you try to save a modified document that is not locked by you. For more information, see Saving Documents using Advanced Options.

    ENOVIA StatusManual Refresh

    Select this check box to prevent automatic refresh of document status when you connect or open documents in an existing session. Status of documents is refreshed only when the required documents are selected from the specification tree and refreshed using Refresh Document Status command from the contextual menu. Enabling manual refresh disables commands such as, Explore, Lock, and Unlock in the contextual menu.

    Lifecycle operations optimizationSpeed Select this check box to optimize speed. This option affects both native and browser user interface.
    Memory usageSelect this check box to optimize memory usage. This option affects both native and browser user interface.
    IEF Client Settings
    Note: This section is valid only for UNIX platforms.
    IEFClientiterationType the iteration number of installed IEF Client. For example, V6R2013.
    IEFClientWorkspaceService folder pathClick Browse and select the installation directory of IEF Client Workspace Service.
  4. Click OK to save your settings.
  5. Restart CATIA to apply the settings, and activate the embedded integration mode.

Note: The CD5Engine APIs can be used for embedded integration only.
Configured settings are applied and activated.
