Constructing a Filter

You can construct a filter.

Required access roles:

Baseline: Leader


Before you begin: You must be in one of the filtering interfaces
  • Catalog Filter of the Design IP Classification app.
  • Filter Assistant of the Catalog Browser.

Constructing a Filter Using Advanced Query
  1. In the first list of a given row, type or select a keyword.
  2. In the second list of the same row, type or select an operator.
  3. In the third list of the same row, type or select a value.
    Tip: When you create a filter using the AND operator, only the values that are valid according to defined conditions are available for selection. However, when the OR operator is used or if you are modifying a filter, then all the values are available for selection.
  4. To activate the condition (row), click .
  5. To deactivate a condition, click the associated check box on the left-hand side of the row.
    Warning: You should only click the check box to deactivate an active condition. (Use Tab to activate a condition once its operator and operand have been defined.)
  6. To remove a condition, click .
  7. To remove all conditions of the currently defined filter, click Clear .
    The filter content is cleared.
  8. To designate the operator, select AND or OR (the selected operator is applied between all conditions of the constructed filter).
    Tip: Click Assisted Mode Activated (the mode will then switch to Edit Mode Activated) to be able to modify the constructed filter by typing directly in the box.
  9. Click Apply to apply the constructed filter to the current chapter.
    The items are filtered in the Design IP Classification app or the Catalog Browser.
  10. If you deactivate the Edit Mode Activated , the filter is removed.
