Manage Broken Actor Links
You can repair a broken subproduct actor or root actor by linking it with another
asset.

To link a subproduct actor with another asset, click in the Manage Assets Links panel, and do one the
following:
- In the tree, select exposed parts or subproducts of a product actor.
- In the tree, right-click the subproduct actor and select .
- In the 3D area,
select a product structure and click Level Selector to select a
part.
- If suggestions are available in the Manage Assets Links
panel, select the asset in the list, and click
.
- If no suggestion is available in the Manage Assets Links
panel, click
.

To link the root actor with another asset, click in the Manage Assets Links panel, and do the
following:

In the Search box of the top bar, enter a search criteria to find physical products and press
Enter.

In the Search panel, click the physical product that you
want to link with the root actor.
Notes:
- You can also access the Reassign command from the tree. To do so, right-click the actor. Under Asset
Management, click .
- You can also delete a broken exposed subproduct actor if no longer used in the
experience. For more information, see Deleting Broken Experience Objects.
When you link the root actor with a new asset, some links
can break.
Remove Exposed Subactors
To repair broken links, you can remove exposed subactors.
To remove exposed subactors, do one of the following:
- In the Manage Assets Links panel, click
- In the tree, right-click the actor and select Remove Exposition or .
Manage Product Animation Links
You can repair a broken product animation by linking it with another
asset.

To link a product animation with another asset, do one of the following:
- In the tree, right-click a product animation and select .
- If suggestions are available in the Manage Assets Links
panel, select the asset in the list, and click
.
- If no suggestion is available in the Manage Assets Links
panel, click
.

In the Reassign Product Animation panel, select the asset you
want to reassign to the product animation, and then click
Reassign.
Notes:
- The panel only displays product animations that you have not exposed yet.
- You can only select one product animation from the list.
Manage Broken Material Links
You can repair a broken material by linking it with another asset.
To link a material with another asset, click in the Manage Assets Links panel, and do the
following:

In the Search box of the top bar, enter a search criteria to find PLM materials and press
Enter.

In the Search panel, click the material that you want to
link with the asset.
Notes:
- You can also click
to manually
reassign an asset with the broken material.
- You can also delete a broken material resource if no longer used in the
experience. For more information, see Deleting Broken Experience Objects.
- You cannot repair a material included in a shared template or a material
application applied to an actor template. In the Manage Assets
Links panel, the material and material application are grayed out. In
the Status column, the following icon
indicates
that the item is broken but cannot be repaired.
