Editing Geometric Primitives

You can change the size or color of geometric primitives.

Change the Size

You can change the dimensions of a geometric primitive in the 3D area.

  1. In the 3D area, select a geometric primitive.
  2. To edit the geometric primitive, do one of the following:
    • In the Properties panel, click Edit .
    • On the context toolbar, click Edit .
    • Right-click the geometric primitive, and select Edit .
    • Double-click the geometric primitive.
    Handles appear around the selected geometric primitive. Depending on the viewpoint's orientation, handles may be temporarily invisible.
  3. To specify new dimensions, do one of the following:
    • In the ruler, enter a value.
    • Drag the handle to adjust the size. Below is an example with a cylinder.

    Tip: To activate symmetry, press Ctrl while dragging the handle.

    When you drag a handle, the corresponding face moves along the face's normal. Moreover, the cylinder's position can change.

Change the Color

You can change the color of your geometric primitive in the Properties panel.

  1. Click the Color square.

    Tip: You can also directly select a color in the rainbow.



  2. In the color chooser, select one of the following tabs: Color Wheel, Color Palette, or Color Sliders.
  3. Depending on the selected tab, click a color or drag the color slider.
    The new color is applied to the geometric primitive.
  4. Optional: Drag the Transparency slider to define the transparency.
  5. Optional: Expand Custom Colors and click Add to add the selected color to your custom palette. Click Reset to remove the color from the palette.
