Edit Template Properties

You can edit the properties of a template.

  1. In the tree, click an actor template and do one of the following:
    • In the tree, click Edit.
    • In the Properties panel, click Edit Template .
    A banner message appears indicating that the modifications also apply to the template instances.
  2. Change the properties of the template, and in the banner message, click Done.
    Notes:
    • If you start another command while editing the template, a banner message appears on the top of the Edit Template banner message.
    • If you edit an instance template or another object while editing the template, the Edit Template session ends.

Update an Actor Template

You can update an actor template.

This feature is useful when you change an actor instance property and need to apply the value to all other instances. The property of the instance replaces the one of the templates.

In the tree, click an instance and select Update Template from Actor.

The orange dot disappears indicating that the instance is synchronized with the template.

Note: The command is grayed out if there is no change on the instance compared with the template.

Tip: You can also update the template from the Properties panel.
