Creating the 3D data from a Layout

You can create a product for the conveyor and 3D parts are created for each section. These parts are positioned at the beginning of each section.

This task shows you how to:

Defining the Layout

Select the type of section to add.

  1. Define a layout of the conveyor with sections broken up for the geometry creation.


    In this scenario the green is the mezzanine level and the yellow is the floor level.
  2. Select from the top bar Add > Physical Product .
    This creates a product for the conveyor and the 3D parts for each section. The parts are positioned at the beginning of each section.
  3. Right-click on the Physical Productxxx and select Properties.
  4. In the Reference tab, change the Title to P&F Conveyor.

Inserting 3D Parts

Creating parts that are positioned at the beginning of each section.

  1. Right-click on the physical product, P&F Conveyor
    The contextual menu appears
  2. Click Insert > 3D Part.
  3. Right-click on the 3D Part and select Properties.
  4. In the Reference tab, change the Title to P&F Conveyor Station 1.


  5. Follow the same procedure to create Station 2.
    Now we have to move the station to the correct location as per our conveyor layout.
  6. Right-click on the Robot and select Snap Automatically to Selected Object.


  7. Select P&F Conveyor Station 2.
    The Robot snaps to the location.

  8. Right-click on the Robot and select Edit.


    The Parameters for Robot Manipulation dialog box appears.
  9. Type:
    • Along X -50m
    • Along Y -60m
    Click Apply then Close.
    Note: These dimensions are derived from the layout drawing above showing the coordinates.
  10. Continue with the rest of the locations then Share > Save > Save All.
