Starting a Connection from an Existing Connection Line and Ending a Connection on an Existing Connection Line

You can start a new connection from an existing connection line, and end a new connection on an existing matching connection line.

Start a Connection from an Existing Connection Line

You can start a new connection from an existing connection line.

Before you begin: In this scenario you start a connection from a connection line between a resistor and a capacitor. The connection is finalized by ending the connection on another connection line in the next subtask below.
  1. Right-click the connection line between the resistor and capacitor and select Connection object > Start Connection .
    A connection line appears and follows the cursor.
    Tip: For possible actions when drawing the connection line, see Step 2 in Use Direct Connection.
  2. You can now connect to a connector the usual way. In this scenario however you continue in the next section below.

    Important: The resulting connection is always a connection between one of the connectors connected by the original connection line and the connector finally connected to. A short highlighting shows the created connection.

End a New Connection on an Existing Matching Connection Line

You can end a new connection on an existing matching connection line.

Before you begin: In this scenario you end the connection line you created in the scenario above on a connection line between an inductor and a heating resistor.
From previous scenario, you now have a connection line following the cursor. To finalize the connection, click the connection line between the inductor and the heating resistor.
A connection is created between one connector of the line between the resistor and capacitor, and one connector of the line between the inductor and heating resistor. A short highlight displays which connectors are connected.

Tips:
  • You can use Ctrl+Z to remove the created connection.
  • You can always pause with the cursor on any connection line to see the corresponding connectors highlighted and have tooltip information about the connection.
