Using the Connection Manager

Connection Manager lets you display, create, repair, and delete connections in the model. The tool makes it easier to work with large models with many connections.

  1. From the Behavior Authoring section of the action bar, click Connection Manager .
    The Connection Manager dialog box appears.
  2. In the Connection Manager dialog box, you can filter the content by alternatives in the upper part of the dialog box:

    You can combine the alternatives.

    • To filter connections by the connection name, type text in the upper box.

      The filter is applied dynamically when typing.

    • To show or hide valid connections, click
    • To show or hide broken connections, click
    • To show or hide unconnected connectors, click
    Tip: To show the names of the connectors in the diagram, from the Diagram section of the action bar, click Show Connector Names .

    The result is displayed.

    Notes:
    • in the list, the icons above indicates the state of the connection, and broken connections are also indicated by red text.
    • Select a connection in the list to highlight it in the diagram. multiselection is allowed.
    • The columns of the list can be sorted by clicking the header.
    • Expandable connectors (buses) are displayed in the Connection Manager as every connection of the expandable connector.
    • You can only see and work with the connections belonging to the open model level.

  3. To create a new connection using Connection Manager, do the following:
    1. In the dialog box, click Create New Connection .
      The result is:
      • The content of the Connection Manager is hidden, only the top header is visible.
        Note: To open or close the dialog box, double-clicking the header.
      • The command Start Connection is activated.
    2. Click the starting point connector and the endpoint connector to create the new connection.

      The new connection appears in the Connection Manager dialog box.
  4. To repair a broken connection, do the following:
    1. Select the broken connection in the list and click Repair selected connection .

      Tip: You can also right-click the broken connection in the list and select Repair selected connection.

      Note: Multiselection is not allowed.

      The result is:
      • The content of the Connection Manager is hidden, only the top header is visible.
        Note: To open or close the dialog box, double-clicking the header.
      • The command Start Connection is activated. For more information about the Start Connection command, see Use the Start Connection Command.
    2. Repair the connection:

      1. If only one endpoint of the connection is missing, click the connector to connect to for that endpoint.
      2. If both connection endpoints are missing, click both the starting point connector and the endpoint connector.

      The repaired connection is indicated as valid in the Connection Manager.
  5. To delete connections, select, in the dialog, the connections to delete by Ctrl+Click, and then click Delete selected connection .
