To display the
Diagram Filter dialog box:
- If minimized,
the
Diagram Filter is represented by an icon
on the right side of the screen. Click this icon to
display it.
- If not
activated, from the
Diagram section of the
action bar,
select
Filter Diagram
.
The
Diagram Filter dialog box appears.

To filter on component names, in the
Diagram Filter dialog box, do the following:

In the
Filter string box, start typing the
component name you want to filter on.
Notes:
- The filtering is
not case sensitive.
- Parts of
component names are handled, for example, if you type
clutch, both
Clutch1 and
MyClutch2 are included in the
filtering.
Filtering is applied dynamically when you type,
components not matching your input are made semitransparent.
- Optional:
To change the level of opacity, drag the handle.
The opacity value goes from 0 to 100 %.
Note:
You can change the default value of the
opacity using the preference
Diagram filter opacity. To specify this
option, select
> Systems > Behavior Modeling, the
Editor tab, the
Component Visualization group. The
option is by default set to 15 %. For more information, see

To filter on which components are inherited, in the
Diagram Filter dialog box, do the following:

Click
Inherited.
The result is:
- Filtering is
applied, components inherited are made semitransparent.
- Any previous
filtering on component names is deactivated and the
Filter string box is dimmed - you
cannot combine filtering by component names and component inheritance.
- Optional:
To change the level of opacity, drag the handle.
The opacity value goes from 0 to 100 %.
Note:
You can change the default value of the
opacity using the preference
Diagram filter opacity. To specify this
option, select
> Systems > Behavior Modeling, the
Editor tab, the
Component Visualization group. The
option is by default set to 15 %. For more information, see

To remove the filtering, you can:
- Close the
Diagram Filter dialog box.
- From the
action bar,
click
Filter Diagram
.
Note:
When you change the active diagram by, for example, giving the
command
Show Component or opening a new class, the
filter text box is cleared and no filtering is applied.
