Selecting Favorite Libraries

You can select what libraries to open by default when opening Dymola Behavior Modeling, and select what libraries are to be opened if several alternatives exist.

The Favorite Libraries list is used in two cases:

  • When Dymola Behavior Modeling is opened, the libraries specified as Automatic Load are opened by default.
  • When a library is asked to be opened, by another library or the user, but the library name and library version are not sufficient to get only one library in the database, the Favorite Libraries list is used to solve the indetermination. If there is still an indetermination, that is, the library is not in the list, the most recently modified library is opened, if the corresponding option is set.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:
  1. Open a session.
  2. From the top bar, select Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Modeling and Execution > Dymola Behavior Modeling
  3. Select the Authoring tab.

Apply General Settings and Check of Libraries

You can decide if you want the most recent libraries to be loaded in case of multiplicity of libraries. You can also verify that libraries to be automatically loaded are available in the database and unique.

  1. Select Always load the most recent library if the most recent libraries are to be loaded when the information in the Favorite Libraries list is not sufficient to decide between multiple libraries (the library is not in the list).

    By default, this option is selected.

    If several libraries have the same name and versions, and if none of them is in the Favorite Libraries list, activating the option resolves the conflict by loading the most recent library.
  2. Select Check All to verify that all libraries that are to be automatically loaded are available in the database, and unique.

    Important:
    • Before using the Check All command, you must exit all editors, including Dymola Behavior Modeling app.
    • The Check All command only checks libraries that are to be automatically loaded (Automatic load specified to Yes).

    A message displays the status of the libraries to be auto-loaded.

Add a Library to the Favorite Libraries List

You can add a library in the Favorite Libraries list.

  1. Click Search to search for the library to add.

    Tip: You can also enter a name and version in the Library Name and Library Version fields, followed by clicking Add to add the library in the list. This alternative does however not guarantee the uniqueness of the library.

    The Content Chooser dialog box is displayed.
  2. Use the Content Chooser to do any of the following:

    • From the tree, select a library.
      Important: You cannot select libraries from the Package Browser.
    • From the Search field of the top bar, select a library.
      Tip: Enter the name of the library in the Search field and press Enter to search. The wildcard * can be used.

The selected library is added in the Favorite Libraries list.

Edit or Remove a Library from the Favorite Libraries List

You can edit or remove a library from the Favorite Libraries list.

  1. See step 1-2 in the General Settings above to display the Favorite Libraries list.
  2. Click the library you want to edit or remove.
    The library is selected in the list.
  3. To load automatically the library when opening Dymola Behavior Modeling, select Automatic load.

    By default, this option is selected.

  4. If editable, you can edit the Library Name and Library Version of a library.
    1. Edit the values.
    2. Click Modify to store the changes.

    Note: You cannot edit the Library Name and Library Version of a library that has been inserted in the list by searching the database.

  5. To remove the library, click Remove.
