Working with the Proposed Classes Browser

You can use the Proposed Classes Browser to manage classes automatically proposed from analysis of, for example, the model you work with. You can navigate in the browser, use drag-and-drop, select classes, and apply context menu commands on them.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Libraries that you create yourself or import (non-standard libraries) must, for best result, be indexed to be fully included in the algorithms used for Proposed Classes Browser.

To index such a library, right-click it in any Package Browser (the main one or any light ones) and select Manage Shortcuts > Index Library for Propositions.

Note: If you later change the structure of such a library by, for example, creating new classes, you must index it again.

Display the Proposed Classes Browser

You can display the proposed classes browser, it is not displayed by default.

To display the Proposed Classes Browser, do the following:
  • If minimized, the Proposed Classes Browser is represented by an icon on the right side of the screen. Click this icon to display it.
  • If not displayed, from the View section of the action bar, click Proposed Classes .
    Tip: You can also access this command from any of:
    • The App Options panel. To access the App Options panel, from the Tools section of the action bar, select App Options .
    • The Action Pad panel. To access the Action Pad panel, from the Tools section of the action bar, click Action Pad , or right-click an empty area and select Display > Action Pad.

The proposed classes browser is displayed.

Tip: To hide the proposed classes browser, click again (from the action bar or the App Options panel) Proposed Classes , or close the browser. You can also minimize the browser, if not docked.

Display More Proposed Classes

You can display more classes than displayed by default. By default some ten classes are displayed.

To display more proposed classes, click More.

Display as Thumbnails

You can display the classes as thumbnails, including the Modelica class paths.

  1. Click Switch View .
    The classes are displayed as thumbnails, including the Modelica class paths.
  2. To display the classes in a list, click Switch View again.

Filter the Contents of the Proposed Classes Browser

You can filter the contents of a Proposed Classes Browser.

  1. To filter, start typing in the Filter box.
    The displayed proposed classes are filtered to only display the ones fitting to the filter.
    Note: The filtering is dynamically updated, that is, the content of the Proposed Classes Browser is filtered after each character you type.
  2. To clear the Filter box, click, in the box, Clear Field.

You can perform a number of actions on a class in the Proposed Classes Browser using drag and drop or using the context menu.
