Creating a Package Device Identifier

You can create a package device identifier (DI) for a device identification object. A package DI is assigned to a package that contain multiple units of the product in a base package. You can create multiple package DIs.

Creating a Secondary Device Identifier
  1. From the page toolbar, click Enable Edit.
  2. From the page toolbar, click Insert new row.
    An empty row appears.
  3. Enter the following details.
    Column Name Description
    Issuing Agency Select the organization that issued the package DI number. You must select the organization that issued the primary DI number.
    Primary DI NumberType the DI number of the package.
    Quantity per PackageType the number of packages that are present inside the base package.
    Contains DI PackageType the DI number of the packages that are present inside the base package.
    Package TypeEnter the type of packaging of the product. For example, box or carton.
    Discontinue DateSelect the date when the package configuration will be discontinued by the labeler. Select a date that is on or before the commercial distribution end date of the medical device product.
  4. Click Save.
    The details are saved.
  5. Click Disable Edit to exit edit mode.

The package DI is created.
