Creating a Secondary Device Identifier

You can create a secondary device identifier (DI) for a device identification object. A secondary DI is an alternate identifier that is assigned by an issuing agency that is different from the agency that has issued the primary DI. You can create multiple secondary DIs.

  1. Go to the Secondary DI Page.
  2. From the page toolbar, click Enable Edit.
  3. From the page toolbar, click Insert new row .
  4. Enter the following details in the new row.
    Column Name Description
    Issuing Agency Select the organization that issues the secondary DI. You can select GS1, HIBCC, ICCBBA, or NHRIC. You can select any agency other than the agency that issued the primary DI.
    DI NumberType the primary DI number.

    Ensure to follow the convention defined by the selected issuing agency.

    • For GS1, type a 14-digit number.
    • For HIBCC, type at least six characters comprising of numbers and alphabets. You can type up to 23 characters.
    • For ICCBBA, type 10 or 16 characters comprising of numbers and alphabets.
    • For NHRIC, type 10 or 11 digits in 3 segments with 2 hyphens. The valid formats for 10-digit values are XXXX-XXXX-XX(default), or XXXXX-XXX-XX, or XXXXX-XXXX-X. The valid format for an 11 digit value is XXXXX-XXXX-XX.

  5. Click Save.
    The details are saved.
  6. Click Disable Edit to exit the edit mode.

The secondary DI is created.
