Using the Track Analysis Assistant

You can locate the products in collision or contact. The Track Analysis Assistant command is enabled during Track Authoring, Path Planning, and when a Track or kinematic Track is selected and played.

The command is also enabled when selecting and playing one or several systems, workplans, operations, assembly sequences, production system excitations, or manufacturing scenarios. There is only one Track Analysis Assistant panel during the simulation and interferences are shown in the panel for all the current simulating tracks.

  1. Define Track Analysis Assistance preferences by selecting the Collision curves option in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > Simulation > Digital Manufacturing Apps Common Services > Manufacturing Simulation Apps Common Services > Clash.

For a given moving-collision object pair, there could be multiple disjoint collision zones. If there is more than one disjoint collision curve, they are displayed in separate rows as children of the corresponding moving-collision object pair. To view these zones, expand the moving/collision object row using the arrow markup. The collision zones are displayed in the 3D viewer in the red curve.

  2. Select an excitation Track and play the simulation.
This enables the Track Analysis Assistant command.
  3. From the Simulation section of the action bar, click Track Analysis Assistant .
The Track Analysis Assistant panel appears. It shows all objects in collision or contact, which are computed and displayed in the panel's 3D Viewer and consist of several options. For more information, see Track Analysis Assistant: Panel Commands.
  4. Right-click the object in the 3D viewer of the Track Analysis Assistant panel to access the context menu options. For more information, see Track Analysis Assistant: Context Menu Commands.
  5. To highlight moving and collision objects:
    1. In the Track Analysis Assistant panel, click Settings .
    2. In the dialog box that appears, select the following options: Apply custom color on moving object and Apply custom color on objects in collision.
Moving and collision objects are highlighted in the 3D viewer, which enables you to quickly locate and fix collision and contact errors.
    Tips:
    • You can change the display colors in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > Simulation > Digital Manufacturing Apps Common Services > Manufacturing Simulation Apps Common Services > Clash.
    • When the Track Analysis Assistant panel is opened for a Track with associations, it is possible to analyze the interferences with associated objects. For more information, see Assembly Evaluation: Authoring Tracks: Kinematic Tracks: Associating Objects with Reference Object Moved by the Mechanism.
