Managing Arc Operations

Operations can be inserted, modified and deleted within an arc task.

When an arc task is created, each tag of a selected arc trajectory, search trajectory or tag group is referenced by an operation. Arc operations, search operations or robot motion operations are created for the task depending on the type of tag that is selected.

Insert an operation

Insert a new operation into an existing arc task.

  1. Select an existing operation in the Teach panel. The new operation will be inserted immediately after the selected operation.



  2. Click Insert an Arc Activity .

    The Arc Welding Compass snaps to the new tag location and the confirmation context toolbar is displayed.



  3. Manipulate the Arc Welding Compass to specify the position and orientation of the arc tag within the current arc trajectory.
  4. Click Save changes to create the new arc operation.

    The new operation appears in the Teach panel.



    Note: You can also click Cancel changes to exit the command without creating a new arc operation.

Modify an operation

Modify the arc tag position and orientation as well as motion attributes of an existing operation.

  1. Select the operation to modify in the Teach panel.

    The orientation Robot snaps on the tag referenced by the selected operation.



    Important:

    When editing an Arc Operation, make sure to select an operation in the Teach panel first. That will move the robot to the target point. If the robot is in singularity, it can be taken out of singularity by dragging the compass in any direction. Once the robot reaches the target, the process of arc operation modification can begin.

    The selection of a tag directly in the work area should be avoided, as this will move the robot to a tag that is not referenced by an arc operation. Should such a scenario occur, Modify will first move the tag referenced by an arc operation to a new location (the location of a tag selected in the work area) and will then present the Arc Welding orientation Robot. Both will be presented in the incorrect location.

  2. Select Modify in the context toolbar.

    The Arc Welding Compass snaps to the selected tag.



  3. Use the Arc Welding Compass to modify the position and orientation of the arc tag as needed.
  4. Click Save changes to confirm the changes.
    The modifications are saved.

Delete an operation

Delete an existing operation from the current task.

  1. Select the operation to delete in the Teach panel.
  2. Click Delete in the context toolbar.

    The selected operation is deleted.
