  1. Load the session data.
In this scenario, the fasteners F7 and F8 are linked to parts provided by the Provided Part00001065 and the fasteners F1 and F2 are linked to parts provided by the Provided Part00001065 and Provided Part00001066.

Note: Fasteners F1 and F2 are assigned under Manufacturing Assembly 1. The Fasten Step 1 implements fastener F1 and the Fasten step 2 implements fastener F2.

  2. Right-click the Manufacturing Assembly tiles and select Show Fasten to display the Fasten tiles.
  3. Right-click the Fasten step 2 tile and select Freeze Fasten Position.
A small icon appears on the tile and on the corresponding tree node to show that the position of the Fasten step 2 is frozen.

  4. Reroute the part from Manufacturing Assembly 1 to Manufacturing Assembly 2 (by moving the corresponding Provided Part in the tree).
Fasten step 1 is rerouted, and Fasten step 2 stays in its fixed position.

  5. Reroute the part from Manufacturing Assembly2 to the root Manufacturing Assembly (by moving the corresponding Provided Part in the tree).
Fasten step 1 and Fasten step 2 are rerouted. You can reroute a frozen Fasten step (Fasten step 2 in this case) to a successor.
