Create Capable Resource Links
You can create a link between a capable resource and a first-level
operation.
Capable resources are reference resources that can be linked as
primary or secondary for an operation.

Select a first-level operation, then from the Authoring section
of the action bar,
click Manage Capable Resources
.
The Manage Capable Resources panel opens.

For primary resources:

In the Primary References section of the panel, click to search
and add a resource reference.

Select one or more resource references from the tree or from the database.
The resource reference is added under the Primary
References section of the Manage Capable Resources
panel and a link is created between the workplan and
the selected resource reference.

For secondary resources:

In the Primary References section of the panel, select a
primary resource.

In the Secondary References section of the panel, click
to search
and add secondary resources in the context of an already existing primary
resource.

Select one or more resource references from the tree or from the database.
The resource references are added under the Secondary
References section of the Manage Capable Resources
panel and links between the primary resource and the secondary resources are
created.
Attach Documents to Capable Resources
You can attach documents to capable resources. This enables you to associate
documents with operations, and facilitates collaboration between Resource Programmers and
Process Planners when sharing documents such as tool paths, ISO codes, or machine
instructions.

Select a first-level operation, from the Authoring section of
the action bar,
click Manage Capable Resources
.
The Manage Capable Resources panel opens.

Select a primary or secondary resource.

Under the Associated Documents section, choose the type of
document you want to attach:

Add Documents Using PLM Search:
Click this command to attach
a document using the PLM chooser or to import a document from the hard disk drive.
Note:
When you select a document from the hard disk drive, a PLM
document is automatically created and attached to the connection.

Attach Published Documents:
Click this command to attach a
document already published by a Resource Programmer for the selected
resource.
The document appears in the panel under the Associated
Documents section. It is attached:
- For a primary resource, in context of the operation
- For a secondary resource, in context of the primary resource and the
operation
Manage Operation Steps
You can manage operation steps only on primary resources of first-level
operations.

Select the first-level operation, then from the Authoring
section of the action bar,
click Manage Capable Resources
.

In the Primary Resources section, select a primary resource,
then click Manage Operation Steps
.
The Manage Capable Resources panel is minimized and the
Manage Operation Steps panel opens. Note:
Information about the
selected first-level operation and primary resource appears at the top of the panel.
Each row in the table corresponds to a step of the first-level operation. The
operation steps follow the tree order and you cannot sorted them. Each column
corresponds to a secondary resource linked to the selected primary resource of the
first-level operation.

Refine the resource usages availability of operation steps by clicking a cell and
choosing from the list:
- Optional:
Attach documents on resource usages.

Select a cell.

Under the Associated Documents section, choose the type of
document you want to attach.
A document icon
is displayed in the corresponding resource usage cell. In addition, the document
appears under the Associated Documents section. For more
information, see Attach Documents to Capable Resources.
- Optional:
Define the position.

Click on the line of the
operation step.
The Define Position panel opens and the product
build-up of the operation is displayed in the 3D area.

From the 3D area,
click a resource and use the Robot to
define the required position.
In the table of the Resource Position section, new
lines are created for each resource positioned.

From the table, define the Referential and the
Applicability of the resource.

Click OK to save your modifications.
The Define Position closes, and the Manage
Operation Steps panel is maximized. A position icon is
displayed in the corresponding resource usage cell, and the button is replaced by a pen icon. Click the pen to edit the positions.

Close the Manage Operation Steps panel.
Your modifications are automatically saved.
Copy Resources from Another First-Level Operation

Select a first-level operation.

From the Authoring section of the action bar,
click Manage Capable Resources
.
The Manage Capable Resources panel opens.

Click Copy resources from another header operation
and select the first-level operation with defined capable resources to be copied.
All primary resources with the corresponding secondary resources are copied to
the first-level operation. The information copied is the following: primary resources,
secondary resources, connection attributes (as installed and customized attributes),
documents, positions for the new primary resources.
