Display Section

The Display section of the action bar provides commands for customizing the chart display, and specifically for choosing the chart time scale.

This page discusses:

Day
Applies a time scale of 1 day to the chart.
The chart displays 24 hours at a time, starting from the first day on screen.

Week
Applies a time scale of 1 week to the chart.
The chart displays 7 days at a time, starting from the first day on screen.

Month
Applies a time scale of 1 month to the chart.
The chart displays 31 days at a time, starting from the first day on screen.

Advanced
Uses the selected time frame as the chart time scale.
In the dialog box, select a time unit and a number of units. The chart displays the selected number of units at a time, starting from the first day on screen.

Change Row Height
Adjusts the height of the rows in the chart to the selected value.
See Flyout for Changing Row Height.

Enlarge Operations
Gantt charts only. Uses a minimum size for operations on the chart.
Select this command if the time scale makes some operations difficult to spot on the chart, or if some operations in the production plan have a very short time span.
The command has no impact on operations that are larger than the minimum size with the current time scale. Only those that are smaller appear with the minimum size.
Click Enlarge Operations again to cancel the feature.

Edit Colors
Gantt charts only. Displays a dialog box to customize the colors used for the advance / delay of work orders, for the status of work orders, and for the execution status of operations.
See Dialog Box for Editing Colors.

Flyout for Changing Row Height

Tip: To change the chart row height, you can also press Ctrl + the mouse wheel on the chart data table.

Small
Applies a row height of approximately 0.2 inches to the chart.
Choose this value to view more rows at a time. The smaller the row height, the larger the number of rows you can see at a time.

Medium
Applies a row height of approximately 0.4 inches to the chart.
This is the default value.

Large
Applies a row height of approximately 0.6 inches to the chart.

Extra Large
Applies a row height of approximately 0.8 inches to the chart.

Dialog Box for Editing Colors

The Edit Colors dialog box shows the current advance / delay colors, operation execution status colors, and work order status colors. You can customize these colors at any time:

  1. Click the name of the color scheme to edit.
  2. Click the block of the color you want to change.
  3. From the color picker, select the new color.
  4. Click the dialog box to confirm and close the color picker.
  5. Repeat from step 2 to change other colors in the current scheme, or from step 1 to customize another scheme.
  6. Click OK.

When you next select the color schemes you have customized, the colors of the operations on the chart reflect your changes. The new colors apply also to the visual cues for advance / delay and statuses in operation and work order tooltips, and in the Details panel.

On using advance / delay colors, work order status colors, or operation execution status colors, see Flyout for Changing Operations Colors in Gantt Charts.

Note: The advance / delay colors serve for all categories of work order advance / delay—be it relative to the calculated due date, to the target end date, or else. For more information, see View Details on Work Orders.
