Editing Insert and Insert Holder in Manufacturing Cell

You can edit an insert and insert holder from the Manufacturing Cell.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: You must have a Activities Process tree open with at least one turning Machining Operation in the Manufacturing Program.

Edit Insert Holder in Manufacturing Cell

You can edit an insert from the Manufacturing Cell.

  1. Right-click a Lathe tool in the Manufacturing Cell and select NC Resources > Edit NC Resources.

    The dialog box appears.
  2. Go to the Insert Holder tab.
    1. Specify the new Name, if required.
    2. Specify Comment, if required.
    3. Double-click any value in the icon representing the geometry of the Insert Holder to edit it in the Edit Parameter dialog box that appears, and type in the Shank height.
    4. Click More
      Geometry and Technology tab are displayed.
    5. Modify the values in Geometry and Technology tab.
  3. Click OK to accept the modifications and exit the dialog box.

Edit Insert in Manufacturing Cell

You can edit an insert holder from the Manufacturing Cell.

  1. Right-click a Lathe tool in the Manufacturing Cell and select NC Resources > Edit NC Resources.
  2. Go to the Insert Holder tab.
    1. Specify the new Name, if required.
    2. Specify Comment, if required.
    3. Specify Description Code, if required.
    4. Double-click any value in the icon representing the geometry of the Insert Holder to edit it in the Edit Parameter dialog box that appears.
    5. Click More >>
      Geometry, Technology, and Feeds and Speeds tab are displayed.
    6. Modify the values in Geometry, Technology, and Feeds and Speeds tab.
  3. Click OK to accept the modifications and exit the dialog box.
