Managing Manufacturing Programs

You can manage Manufacturing Programs from the Activities Process Tree. One manufacturing program is created in the Activities Process Tree, under the Part Operation, when you create a NC machine using the NC Machine Programming Wizard. You can add more Manufacturing Programs, or edit them.

  1. From the Programming section, click Manufacturing Program and select an item in the Activities Process Tree.
A manufacturing program is added in the Activities Process Tree, after the manufacturing program that contains the selected item.
  2. Double-click a manufacturing program (just created or already existing).
The Manufacturing Program dialog box is displayed.
  3. Optional: Edit the proposed name.
  4. Optional: Add a comment.
  5. Optional: If the set up contains multiple motion groups (managed by a Control device in the Robot setup), specify a motion group from the list.
  6. If the current machine is a multi-slide lathe machine, select a turret from the list.

By default, turrets are assigned as follows:

    • When unused turrets exist, the first unused turret is assigned to the manufacturing program.
    • When no unused turret exists, the first used turret of the machine is assigned to the manufacturing program.
    • The first created manufacturing program uses the first turret, subsequent manufacturing programs receive unused turrets, if any, otherwise the first turret.
    • A turret is assigned to several Manufacturing Programs.
    • For FBDI, the option None is replaced with the first unused turret, if any, otherwise with the first used turret.

Note: This rule applies to manufacturing programs existing at, or created after the time of the machine assignment or FBDI.
  7. Assign tools or tool assemblies to the turret as explained Importing and Mounting Accessories and Adaptors.
  8. Select NC Code Based Simulation check box to enable it.
    • Select at the right of NC File. Select a NC File container and files in that container.
    • Select an additional NC File type. Select a NC File container and files.
  9. Click Display Origin Management Panel.
  10. Define the work offsets.
  11. Click Display or Simulate to check the tool path.
