  1. From any Product:
    1. Select a machining app then the Programming section.
An empty Manufacturing Cell is created with an Activities Process Tree.
    2. Create a generic machine or assign a machine from the database.
As soon as a machine is assigned to the Manufacturing Cell, a Part Operation and a Manufacturing Program are created in the Activities Process Tree.
    3. Alternatively, open an existing Machining Process or PPR Context.

By default, the Activities Process Tree is available.

  2. Click Workpiece Automatic Mount .
The part snaps onto the machine table.

  3. Activate the Manufacturing Program and click Profile Contouring .
  4. In the Strategy tab, click tool axis symbol:

You can also right-click the symbol and choose Select.

The Tool Axis dialog box is displayed.
  5. Select Manual from the list and select the Machine rotary axis check box.
  6. Select the Display tool and Display machine check boxes.
  7. Select User-defined position and click [...] and select a position on the face to be machined.

This is the position that the machine tries to reach.

The machine is positioned according to the current tool axis definition.

  8. Enter Axis A: -45 deg and AxisC: 0deg values for the rotary axes to vary the machine head position

Continue to enter values for the rotary axes, Axis A and C: 45 deg, or Axis A:90 deg to find the best position for machining. The I, J, K components of the tool axis are updated in accordance with the entered angle values.
Note: If the position and/or the orientation is out of machine limits or unreachable by the machine, the OK in the dialog box is disabled. As soon as the position and/or orientation is within machine limits and reachable, OK becomes enabled.

  9. Click OK in the dialog box to return to the Profile Contouring Machining Operation dialog box to continue the definition of the Machining Operation.
