Generating BOM XML

You can generate BOM XML by using Extract Production Drawing.

Generate a BOM XML

You can view the generated workshop documents for the selected manufacturing assembly.

  1. In the Authoring section of the action bar, click Extract Production Drawing .
    The Extract Production Drawing panel appears.
  2. Click the root manufacturing assembly.


  3. Click Show Preferences on the panel.
    Preferences window appears.

  4. Select Generate BOM XML.
    Note: If the Consider Direct Children Only option is on, then BOM XML only contains information of direct children of selected manufacturing assembly.
  5. Click OK.

Open a BOM XML

You can view the generated workshop documents for the selected manufacturing assembly.

Click Play to watch the video:

  1. In the Authoring section of the action bar, click Open Workshop Documents .
  2. Select the root manufacturing assembly.
    The Open Workshop Documents panel appears.
  3. Click the bill of materials Document from the panel.


  4. Click Open.
    BOM XML opens and it contains all attributes of extracted Manufactured Items and all attributes of children Manufactured Items. It also contains implemented products and resulting products.
