Creating a What-If Scenario

What-if scenarios provide a method for exploring the potential impact of making a business decision that changes the planning puzzle. This includes changing the available machine-hours, adding new orders, or adding an alternative routing.

Executing a Planning Run
  1. In the Scenario Manager, open the Scenarios tab in the left panel, right-click a Scenario, and select Copy....
    The Scenario details are displayed.
  2. In the Scenario details General tab, enter the name for the new scenario.
  3. Optional: Enter a description.
  4. Click OK.
    The new scenario has been created.
  5. Export the data from your new what-if scenario and modify the data if required, such as adding large speculative customer orders.
  6. Import the changed data.
  7. Re-run the optimizer and view the changes. You can also compare this scenario with the original in KPI Matrix to see in detail the changes that have resulted.
