About User-Defined Explore

The PPR User Defined Explore command enables you to explore additional objects in a PPR structure, using predefined procedures.

User-Defined Explore (UDE) provides an effective method to explore additional data and can be used to complete PPR structures before opening them in an authoring session. The computation to identify and retrieve related information happens directly on the server, similar to User-Defined Open (UDO).

Principles of Use

The PPR User Defined Explore command is available from the PPR Navigation section of the action bar. It opens a dialog box listing the available Java Script procedures to invoke. The retrieved PPR objects are added to the PPR content and complete it according to the procedure that you selected.

For more information, see Exploring with User-Defined Explore.

Note: User-Defined Explore ignores all filters applied in Manufacturing Context Builder except Configuration Filters.

The procedures used here are similar to the UDO procedures and can be customized to better fit your needs.

For more information, see About User-Defined Open and Explore Procedures and Managing and Deploying User-Defined Open and Explore Procedures.

With User-Defined Explore, the completion happens exclusively on the server. Completion steps are predefined in the selected procedure and do not require manual input. Data is then loaded in the spreadsheet, after completion.
