Creating a Bookmark Structure

You can insert and author bookmarks and bookmark folders, and add objects and documents under the bookmarks. A bookmark can only have bookmark folders as children. A bookmark folder can have references, representations and documents as children.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Start Manufacturing Context Builder. An empty Bookmark view appears by default.

Insert a New Bookmark

You can create a bookmark.

  1. In the Bookmark view, click Insert New Bookmark .
    A new bookmark appears in the Bookmark view.
  2. Optional: Right-click the bookmark and select Properties.
    The Properties box appears.
  3. Optional: In the Name section, enter a name for the bookmark and click OK.

Create a Bookmark Folder

You can create a bookmark folder in the Bookmark view.

  1. Right-click a bookmark and select Insert > Insert New Bookmark Folder.
    A box appears.
  2. Name your bookmark folder and click OK.

A bookmark folder is added to the Bookmark view.

Insert an Existing Bookmark

You can insert an existing bookmark in the Bookmark view.

  1. Click Insert New Bookmark From.
  2. In the search box, enter a character string and click Search.
  3. Double-click your bookmark in the search results.

The bookmark is inserted in the Bookmark view.

Note: The Insert New Bookmark From command is only available if you do not have any preselected bookmark or bookmark folder.

Insert an Existing Reference

You can insert an existing reference in the Bookmark view.

  1. Right-click the bookmark folder and select Insert > Insert Existing Reference.
    The Object Selection box appears.
  2. In the From Search tab, enter a character string in the search box and click OK.
    A list of references appears.
  3. Select your reference then click OK.

The reference is inserted under the selected bookmark folder.

Insert a New Document

You can insert a new document in the Bookmark view.

  1. Select a bookmark folder in the Bookmark view.
  2. Right-click the selected bookmark folder and click Insert > Insert New Document.
    The Document box appears.
  3. Enter a title for your document.
  4. In the Files Information tab, search a file, then click OK.

The new document is inserted under the selected bookmark folder.
